Most of the AP Chronicles articles published in 2022 were written by Sébastian Vivas, historian and Heritage & Museum Director for Audemars Piguet since 2012. Audemars Piguet, like its competitors, was not immune to the effects and began revolutionizing its watches. In 1972, Audemars Piguet released the Royal Oak watch, which catapulted the brand to prominence in the industry. The Royal Oak is deservedly regarded as a great watchmaking icon, having pioneered the concept of the luxury sports watch.
