At first, I started with tipping $0-$0.50 because I was under the impression that since it is so close and the service fee were a bit high (for me), the drivers would get paid enough from Doordash anyways. Today, I ordered from a restaurant 1.2 miles away and because my meal was discounted, I decided to tip $1.20 dollars.
It’s not so much that. Doordash pays 2.50 per delivery no matter distance. Sometimes they give more but it’s very unlikely. So let’s say you don’t tip/tip after, everyone’s going to be passing up the 2.50 because it’s just not worth it gas wise. Then it gets fishy with DoorDash payouts and all that but my general rule was 1 mile $1
