We just bought some drinks and our lunch, which was fresh fish and was good. There were nice groves of trees along the beach which provided plenty of shade and there were areas of sunshine for those who wanted that, too, as well as lots of chairs.

Snorkeling from Playa Palancar is possible and can be a great experience. The water is clear and there are plenty of fish to see. However, there are a few things to keep in mind before snorkeling from this beach. The first is that the currents can be strong. It is important to swim parallel to the shore to avoid being pulled out to sea.I've never read anybody having bad things to say about the Playa Palancar Reef Tour. Definitely worth the money.
