My first sushi meal in Tokyo, so difficult to compare. However, my friend Kazu assured me there are no bad sushi restaurants in this area as the fish doesn't get much fresher than this. Choose a seat at the sushi bar or a table, then browse the menu. Writing is in Japanese but all menu items are pictured and clearly priced. This is a great place to try a variety of sakes, served in glasses and accompanied by an extensive selection of snacks and sushi. Toro (fatty tuna) is served first, so that the heat of the freshly cooked vinegared rice melts the fat. Fresh-toasted nori and tea served in Nambu ironware teapots show commitment without compromise.
